Success: Why Do Some People Sabotage Their Own Success?

By

When someone holds themselves back in life, there are at least two things that can take place. If one is not aware of the fact that they are holding themselves back, they can come to see themselves as a victim.

On the other hand, if one is aware of the fact that they are the ones who are holding themselves back, they will be able to take a deeper look into why this is. By taking this approach, they will be able to liberate themselves over time.

The First Outcome

If someone is not aware of why they are holding themselves back, and is only aware of what they have been doing to move forward in life, they could believe that there is no way that they are playing a part in all this. One could reflect on some of the things that they have done over the years, seeing how hard they have worked.

Perhaps they get up in the early hours most days and only go to bed once they have ticked off everything that they needed to do. There will then be absolutely no doubt about how committed they are to their own growth.

Plenty of Evidence

Along with what they generally do on each day of their life, there can be all the courses that they have been on. They may go on a few courses a year, or maybe they go on at least one course a month.

In addition to this, there can be all the books that they have read on success and achievement. As far as they are concerned, every part of them will want to move forward and to go to the next level.

An Indivisible Barrier

But, no matter what they do to move forward, they will find that they can only get so far. Now, there may be times when they are able to make a breakthrough, but before long, they may soon return to where they were.

It is then going to be a case of one or two steps forward and one or two steps back. When this happens, one could come to believe that a certain person or a certain group of people are holding them back.

More Force

Their mental and emotional state could radically change after one of these moments, only for them to rise up again shortly after; this will then prove how resilient they are. This is also likely to show that one will be using a lot of willpower.

Living in this way is most likely going to cause them to experience a fair amount of pressure, pressure that could knock them down from time to time. If another person was to suggest that they may be the ones who are holding themselves back, one may end up being consumed by anger or find what has been said amusing.

One Direction

One could believe that this person doesn't know what they are talking about, seeing them as someone who just wants to pull them down or hasn't got a clue what they are talking about. One will be out there working hard, not waiting for anything to fall into their lap.

What could make it ever harder for them to handle what is going on is if they come across someone who is making clear progress, even though they don't appear to be working very hard. It may seem as though someone like this has something that they themselves don't have.

One Solution

During times like these, one may believe that this shows that they need to try another approach. Nonetheless, what they may find is that changing their approach doesn't really do anything.

One of the things that they may have learned at one point in time was that they were being held back by low self-esteem. Yet, even after they had worked on this, their life still didn't change.

A Closer Look

Due to how they experience life, there are likely to be a number of negative feelings that they are used to experiencing - that is, of course, if they don't have the tendency to repress these feelings. They can feel powerless, helpless, hopeless, trapped, and worthless during the moments when they reflect on how they life is or if they experience a setback.

One way of looking at this would be to say that they only experience these feelings because of what in taking place in their life. Thus, if their life was to change, they would no longer experience these feelings.

Emotionally Attached

Another way of looking at this would be to say that feelings these feelings is what feels comfortable. And, only does it feel comfortable, these feelings are a big part of their identity.

Clearly, feeling this way is not what feels comfortable at a conscious level; yet, unconsciously, feeling this way can be familiar and, therefore, what feels safe. Taking this into account, their conscious mind will want something that is seen as threat to their unconscious mind, which is why it is so hard for them to change their life.

One Need

The reason why feeling this way feels comfortable can be the result of what took place at the beginning of their life. This may have been a time when they were abused and/or neglected, for instance.
รข€‹
Feeling this way would have gradually become what felt comfortable and these feelings have become part of their identity. The trouble is that as the years passed, different defences would have been put in place, causing one to gradually lose touch with the information that would allow them to realise why they sabotage their own life.

Awareness

What this emphasises is how important self-awareness and self-knowledge is when it comes to being able to grow and develop. When one doesn't have self-awareness and self-knowledge, it will be perfectly normal for them to feel like a victim.

If one can see that they are the ones who are holding themselves back, they may need to reach out for external support. This can be provided by the assistance of a therapist or a healer.

Message From the Universe: Time for Its Manifestation

By

"If you were able to look back at your most brilliant successes, stunning comebacks, amazing catches, and smokin' ideas, and you were to find that virtually all of them seemed to materialize out of thin air, when you least expected them, and that they had exceeded even your greatest expectations at the time, how excited would you be about the new year and whatever else I've got up my sleeve?

Hubba, hubba -

The Universe"

As we are halfway into 2018, we tend to look at our accomplishment and determine what is left to do until year end. We look into the good and the bad, and some regret many decision made. Focusing on what is really important to tackle for the remainder of 2018 and take a step forward to make things happen. The reality is that all what you do today will seem little to you, but looking one year into the future, the changes are pretty massive. The key is to continuously taking these small steps as it is much easier to just give up. Make sure that giving up shouldn't ever be a part of your thoughts, at any given time.

Life isn't easy and no one really knows what's in store for them from now till the end of your existence. You may work your butt off but feel like you are walking backwards. Others may feel like they haven't really done much in this year but yet have advanced dramatically into their personal and professional life. It is not about how much you work, it is about how smart you work. Oh yes, let's not forget the "Being Lucky" part of the equation as well. Yes. I know not many like to hear the word lucky, and that is because many have had any luck in their life, so if they have to depend on it, they will certainly feel miserable for eternity. Luck is definitely an important ingredient that can change your present or future without you having any control. It is certainly very crucial for you to accept that fact and not fight it, just like trying to control human nature. Work on adapting, embracing the changes that come into your life and be grateful that it wasn't worst. There is a lot of great opportunities in store for you, and the key is to always keep moving forward, no matter what happens.

The Secret Sauce to Achieving Goals

By

Are You Setting Specific Effective Goals?

You can set big goals, but make sure you can then break them down into smaller 'micro' goals. Once you've set a goal, then you need to be specific so you know what steps you need to take, and work backwards to create a schedule of actions needed to succeed. Actions make the goal setting system effective.

Are Your Goals Inclusive?

Focusing on only one part of your life is something you need to consider. When goals are multifaceted, you can have an impact on all areas of your life. You will find there is synergy across multiple domains, and you can easily achieve more than one in different areas with the same actions. There is no point achieving financial goals if you are not happy. Your personal life, happiness also needs to be considered. Aim for being complete, happy, and focused. Therefore, make sure your goals are inclusive and have an impact on other areas of your life.

Is Your Action Plan Relative?

Once you create the schedule, you need to truly consider how relative it is of reality. Say your goal is to be healthy and reduce your cholesterol by 10 points in six months. This means you need to exercise and eat right. If you don't schedule in the time needed, you won't achieve this goal. It doesn't happen by luck, or magic. Think of these as 'resources'. Time is a resource. A personal trainer, nutrition coach are resources to help you achieve that goal.

Are You Learning from Your Mistakes?

Often when setting goals, instead of learning from failure, people give up. Using the example above, once you implement your schedule to reach the goals that you have set, when you notice there are things you've forgotten to take into account, don't give up. Learn from the failure and modify your schedule to be more realistic.

You will probably have to rewrite some of your goals and your schedule, and this is the whole point of goal setting. Adapt, modify where you need to. Many people believe failure is something negative, however failure is the mother of all learning. So take it on the chin, learn and adapt to be even better.

Are You Accountable and Evaluating Often?

Accountability is key. Schedules are very important to the success of reaching any goal in life. Build a 'smart' calendar of tasks and activities that get you from where you are now to your goal. Make it a daily habit, a ritual, something you do every single day. You can even develop a simple checklist to check off every day to keep you on track. Identify what's not working, modify and also keep doing things that are working well for you. You can even ramp up the intensity of whats really working well for you to achieve your goals faster.

Are Your Goals Empowering?

Use positive language, ALWAYS! When writing a goal it's important to write them in a positive sense, and in a way that empowers you. Writing down a goal and then changing the words to sound more positive to make it more empowering. For instance, "losing weight" seems like a good goal, but for some people it might signify deprivation. So instead, you might frame the goal as "Look amazing in my bikini for my summer holidays."

Do You Have Too Many Goals?

Keep it simple. Don't try to have too many goals all at once. Everyone has a personal life experience, preferences, needs and wants. If you have set goals in too many areas of life at once, you will probably become overwhelmed and stuck. Break it down, achieve, set new goals, and move on. You don't need to do everything in one day. Aim for the small wins that lead to bigger achievements.

As you break down bigger goals into 'micro' goals, you will find yourself achieving something every day. Getting your 30 minutes of exercise every day is a WIN! So keep the momentum going and make it a daily habit.

Changing your lifestyle. Achieving any goal or simply aspiring to improve in any area of your life is a process. You must apply a conscious awareness to everything you do, and how you think and feel. So before kicking off your new goal strategy, work through these questions and set the foundation for success!

Wisdom From the Universe: Learn How to Direct Your Energy and Focus

Are you aware of your thoughts and the focus of what you are thinking about at any given time, or do you believe your thoughts are randomly occurring? Have you ever considered there is an energetic connection between what you are thinking and what you are feeling? Would you like to experience better feelings and in turn, shift your attention away from thoughts that are upsetting and/or emotionally distressing?

There is a phrase used by humans and when it is expressed, it is given as a pass, to accept, forgive, or explain something a person has said or done. That phrase is "being human". If you were involved in a relationship and it ended, resulting in strong emotional outbursts or tears, someone might say to you, "that's okay, you are only human".

It is believed there are inherent "natural" reactions to life events and circumstances, as if human minds are programmed to act in this manner automatically. But the reality is that the mind is directional by nature, guided by the intentions of the human who directs or guides or instructs it. A person can condition their mind to respond to situations in a particular manner, which in turn becomes a practiced habit and therefore may appear to be a human response versus a learned response.

This means the mind is and can be trained. Every day, and with everything you do, you are training your mind, and at an energetic level. There are several possible states you can train your mind to be in and it is divided between positive and negative energy. There are different versions of positive and negative energetic states of mind. A person who worries about finances is training the mind to focus on the fear of impending failure. A person who worries about health is training the mind to focus on the negative energy of the fear of the unknown.

But the person who decides to focus on happy memories, their accomplishments, and what they have learned in life, they are training their mind to focus on the positive energy stream. When the mind is trained to look inward and feel good, negative situations do not likely prompt the response typically expected, from upset to anger. That is due to a trained focus, the directional flow towards positive, productive energy. The converse is also true. A trained negative focus can prompt irrational, loud, aggressive, responses which can flow unchecked.

Can the Mind Be Trained?

For most people, the idea of a trained mind may seem odd. But this is no different than religious institutions teaching people to pray. That is a form of directional flow, even if it is to a perceived being. It is a matter of turning the attention of the mind and training it to stay in one direction on a consistent basis. This is also called attunement.

By

It is also possible to become practiced at directing the mind towards a positive energetic flow but then have moments when the mind is diverted to something negative. There are many negative influences surrounding humans, from what is available online to what can be seen on the news.

A Connection to Emotional Intelligence

Even those who are the most well-practiced can feel a pull towards negative energy and if they are not careful, they too can be drawn in. But with practice, the emotional discord can be felt and recognized quickly, and focus towards positive energy restored. A name has been given for this ability and it has been called emotional intelligence. What this phrase does is to explain the process at a superficial level, something most people can understand. But what is really going on is much deeper than that as it occurs at an energetic level. The reason why is that thoughts alone are not enough to change emotions felt, there must also be a shift in the connection to the energetic flow, from negative to positive.

Being Connected to Positive and Negative Energy

Then the question some humans raise is this: Why should I care so much about feeling connected to the positive energetic stream at all times? The answer is simple. It is where feelings of pure happiness and love and well-being flow. You see evidence of those who are attuned to a negative energetic flow all around you, including everyone who has done something that society would label evil, hateful, unthinkable, bad, wrong, and so on. For many of those people, a negative energetic flow has occurred for so long it is now a practiced feeling.

The result of an ongoing connection to a negative energy flow is generally very self-destructive to the human body and its well-being. It deteriorates the mind and can lead to outward manifestations, such as actions taken which negatively affect others. This can be small actions, from negative comments to antisocial behavior, to unthinkable or unforgivable actions. In contrast, a practiced focus towards positive energy helps to establish harmony within the body and with others. It ensures a peaceful existence within and it is usually manifested outward with others. There are varying degrees as a person can flow in and out of this state, depending upon their level of discipline.

Learning to Change Your Focus

Because you are reading this now, it means you care about how you feel. Pay attention to how you are training your mind and what you are creating as a point of focus. You will know how you feel within the connection to a positive or negative energetic source by the emotions you experience. You do not need to experience bliss or even pure happiness at all times. Even a sense of balance and contentment is enough to establish stability and a focus towards the best in life. Your mind follows the direction you lead it and produces thoughts accordingly. Nothing is produced randomly.

This knowledge tells you that if you want to change how you feel and what you are experiencing now, it is time to take better control of the focus you give to your mindset. You do not need affirmations or anything more than to shift to thoughts of something that allows you to experience a positive emotion. Then you must guard your mind from the external environment and the negativity which would distract your focus. You decide what is important to know for life and what you can do without to protect your well-being, especially if you are now struggling with a problem of chronic negative thoughts.

After mental housekeeping, or evaluating external influences, be prepared to pay more attention to internal influences and how one negative thought can take you down a path of many more negative thoughts. As you ready yourself internally and externally, you are now prepared to better hold a focus towards the good in life, the best in yourself and others, and this will help you stay connected to the positive energy stream.

A universal truth is this: Through an ongoing connection to the positive energetic stream, the insight and wisdom of Higher Order Collective Consciousness will flow easily to you and through you. This helps you feel as if you can face each day, no matter what opportunities and challenges it may bring to you as you have an energetic connection to the Source of Life energy which has all knowledge, all wisdom, and gives life to all humans.

The external environment around you may remain the same, with its problems, financial challenges, societal noise, and negative influences. But when you are positively focused and energetically balanced, you are connected, attuned, and capable of remaining in harmony. Even if your focus should shift, for a minute, a day, or a week, you know how to train yourself back into to the positive energy stream and you can shift your focus back again. With time and practice, you will soon learn to focus just by how you feel. Then you will live in energetic harmony, balanced internally, and listening uninterrupted for the wisdom you need to live the life you have planned.

8 Tips To Cope With Very Bad News

It's not easy. It's never easy. And nothing can really help you forget the situation. But there are a few little tricks that might somehow soothe you or make you find some extra strength and there are some other things that you should try and avoid in order to not feel even worse.

Let me try and summarize a few tips for you. Remember, this is not about your sick loved ones now, but about you...

Think up two or three positive thoughts or recall two happy or better yet, funny memories and keep them ready to tell your loved one if the moment arises. You have to think of them when you're alone because life tends to get busy or overwhelming when near a sick person. Grab the opportunities to give them little gifts of happiness throughout the day. Have some stories, anecdotes or memories ready at all times. Be ready to force a change of subject in the conversation when you feel that you and the patient are going in circles around the same old themes. That will act as a flush of fresh, invigorating breeze.

Whenever you're with your loved sick ones, focus all your attention on them and try not to think about your pain. It can never match theirs. And don't let mental digressions divert you from your real chore which is keeping yourself strong enough to help the person you love. It's easy to ask oneself "why us, why me?" It's in fact an unavoidable question. But it's a question that has no answer and looking for one obsessively will not solve the problem and will deduct from your energy reserves. When that question (or similar ones) pop into your head, look at it squarely for a couple of seconds and then let your thoughts tell it to leave you alone. Turn your attention to more fruitful endeavors.

Keep busy. Don't sit around letting questions attack you. Don't stay in bed if you're awake doing nothing; grab a book or get up to bake some cookies. Anything is better than letting destructive or depressive thoughts and tortuous questions engulf you. One of my favorites is writing something for my loved ones when my mind doesn't seem to find any peace. The mere act of sitting at the computer or holding the pen in my hand helps me focus and fight negative ideas. Another favorite one of mine is, of course, reading. Reading soothes my mind so much! It helps me run away from my reality for a little while and has proven to be a great way to reduce stress. But whatever you read must be of interest to you. Don't try to take any book laying around in your house. Choose something that has meaning and you really want to know about.

Meet up with friends who can support you too. Find moments to vent your anger and sadness away from your sick loved one but supported by friends or others who care for you. Let others share your pain and comfort you, too. Don't play hero all day long; it's exhausting and you need to save up your energy.

If not with friends, try to vent your anger and distress by running, exercising, walking or practicing any sport you like or engaging in any manual activity of your choice. Doing something physical helps the mind focus. It's OK to feel angry and frustrated, it's only natural. And crying is also good. But no matter what you do, don't let the anger and frustration accumulate inside you. Those two are very destructive forces that will only lead to more sadness. Feel them, face them and understand that what you are feeling is a natural reaction. Then vent away any unacceptable or excessive accumulations by doing something physical.

Plan little actions for each day. Some of them you will undertake, others will remain just planned. Have things to do at all times: rent a movie, order a book, organize a small reunion with friends over drinks, decide what to cook for dinner... even if your days seem completely full and overfilled, still plan ahead. Planning daily things to do with or without the patient will give you a sense of normalcy that will help bear the hours. Some of those plans you can design together with your loved one: discuss the details, talk about the choices... as you would do under any other circumstances.

There will be times when your mind and your soul will ask for quiet and peace, for silence and inactivity. Take a break. Give yourself some moments alone and don't feel guilty for taking them. Let your thoughts and raw feelings rest a bit. But make sure those times don't turn into self-punishment. If you feel that your mind is starting to go in circles around unanswerable questions again, put a stop to it. One thing is enjoying a quiet moment; something else is letting depression catch up with you.

And finally, let your loved one know that you are there, that you are the same old you and that you're together in this. Sometimes, when the pain is big, we withdraw from our loved ones because it's too much to bear. Try not to do that. Sail the ride together. Let the love you share hold you together. It's OK to show them that you are sad or even angry, as long as you can also show them that you are hopeful and that you still cherish these moments together. A happy moment treasured now is worth more than many, less meaningful others shared before.

Life is sometimes unbearably hard, you're right. And we should never pretend it's not. But it's our task to look for the small, good things around us to help those who are sick. Use these little tips to help you go through your dark days.

Enjoy life, yes, even under these terrible circumstances, enjoy the good moments in life.

Wisdom From the Universe: Can I Make Better Decisions?

A person's life is a series of decisions made, some decisions occurring daily, and others happening over the course of months and years. It isn't until a person has reached the midpoint of their life, or even later in life, when they realize the culminating effect those decisions have had on their life. Now looking back, every significant personal, relational, and career choice faced has presented an option in a pathway of life which could result in a number of possible outcomes.

The times when a person asks "what if" or states "if only" means they are currently at a place in life they do not wish to be and they are now reflecting back on what other possible outcomes might have occurred if different decisions were made or better options were available when choices were presented. And all of this is predicated on believing there is any productive benefit to reflecting back and coming up with numerous scenarios of the different possible outcomes.

Then people of a religious perspective try to rationalize it as being part of a divine plan, not wanting to accept they are the divine. They are part of the Source Energy of Life, connected always, disconnected never, and when they can believe in their own ability and power to listen through their own mind, and with a future focus, they can gain the wisdom necessary to make the best possible decisions as they are following their own life's plan.

A universal truth is this: Choices are not happenstance and neither is life, nor are humans merely pawns in a divine supreme being's plan to control and manipulate them at will, the same being who is supposedly known for being easily angered.

This is not how life works. The Source of Life Energy is pure and positive energy of glowing bright love, radiating through all beings. It nurtures, sustains, and generates life. Only when humans focus on negative energy do they feel a sense of being cut off, as if they are being punished. But the love from the Source of Life remains with them, in them, and flowing through them, and it is always available.

Choosing Your Point of Focus

Free will means having a choice as to your point of focus. You can choose to focus on negativity and live a life deemed evil, or focus on positive energy and live a balanced life. Now does a focus on positive energy ensure the best outcomes in life? It does not as each person has their own life's blueprint. A person can be surrounded in positive energy and still have a body with illness and disease. But the state of mind determines how a person lives their life.

With a focus on positive energy, there is a knowing that when situations arise, any decision made can be done by relying on their own internal sense of knowing, a gut instinct or insight from the Collective Consciousness of Mankind. Even without the best outcome, the need to look back in despair is minimized as the positivity draws in peace, harmony, and hope. A life of struggle, a life filled with all the wrong decisions, and a life spent looking back in regret can be turned around by using the power of their own mind.

Be Willing to Listen and Trust

When a person decides to turn within, and not plead or pray to someone or something else, they can begin to listen. Not to someone, but to the Collective Consciousness of Mankind, the memories of all of mankind which creates an energy source that in turns creates and sustains all of life. The "universe" is simply a life force that originates from the Source of Life energy, extending from the Collective Consciousness of Mankind.

Within this Collective Consciousness is a higher consciousness, a Higher Order Wisdom, which provides the knowledge necessary to help guide anyone who is willing to listen. It is a matter of learning to trust yourself and your inner voice. The most important decision you can make now is to start trusting yourself, to start finding time to listen quietly for wisdom, and find happiness in positive memories.

Then decide that from this day forward your future matters more than your past. Believe you have a part in this future and be willing to accept life where you find yourself at now. This may take practice and time to accept, believe, and embrace, but the longer you continue, the more you will come to realize that every step forward in life was needed to reach today and today is right where you belong.

Intuition Vs Fear: How to Recognize Your Intuition

Intuition can produce feelings, emotions, sounds, images, physical sensations, dreams, heightened awareness and distractions. Everyone has intuition. Sometimes it's subtle and other times it's quite pronounced or even startling. For people who haven't had any training in how to work with their intuition, the experience of being intuitive can lead to empathic overload, fatigue, disillusionment, and confusion about what's real, what's being imagined, what's being projected, what's coming from a higher (wiser) place and what's not. Listening to intuition can be just as disturbing as attempts to ignore it because the messages may seem emotionally loaded while also being cryptic or lacking any clear direction as to how to make use of that information - much less what higher purpose it's serving or how to digest the emotional aspects of it.

By learning to recognize and work with your intuition effectively, you can create a greater feeling of purpose, direction, clarity, inner peace and spiritual connection in your life. Learning how to ground your sixth sense in the practical world is essential in navigating relationships, careers, financial decisions, life transitions, and personal growth.

The following 8 tips may help you to recognize the workings and value of your intuition and offer clarity about the difference between the fear-based mind and the intuitive, wise self:

The purpose of your intuition is to guide you - not to scare you. Any fear-based response you have is coming from your mind - not your higher self.
Cryptic messages are not necessarily warnings. They may just be an attempt from the universe to get your attention. Don't jump to conclusions. Instead, take time to listen and engage (calmly) with the energy contained within those messages. Take some deep breaths and ask your higher self for clarity.
If you find yourself stirred up by your intuitive downloads, stop what you're doing and breath deeply again. Then ask your spiritual power why you're picking up that information or energy and what you can do with it. Give yourself some time to receive an answer. It may not come to you immediately. It may take several days and calm space before another message presents itself. With practice, you can learn to dialogue with your intuition so that it becomes more useful to you.
If you're on empathic overload, ask yourself what emotional issues may be getting activated within yourself. What inner demons are unresolved? When you're already stirred up (or in denial) about your own emotional process, it's likely that you'll over-identify with someone else's pain. That leads to a merging of your pain and someone else's and a situation that's emotionally, psychically, and energetically murky.
Do a reality check about whether your inner rescuer has been activated. Are you yearning to fix someone else? Is that your pattern? It is for a lot of empathic people as they have a tendency to try to save everyone else rather than working on themselves. Keep in mind that you'll be less effective in helping anyone else if your own emotions and energy are stirred up.
If you're constantly on the go, your energy will race and you may be more likely to feel anxious. Giving yourself time-outs, time in nature, walks, hikes, swims, meditation, massage, quiet time at home and other self-care modalities will help to ground your energy and decrease your fear response.
If your instincts are telling you something and you respond with an argumentative statements, you may be ignoring your own intuition.
Keep a journal of the intuitive messages that you receive - even if you're unsure of what they mean. Over time, you may find that the messages come together in a more coherent manner.
There are a number of books and courses to help you develop your intuition. It may seem frustrating at first. But if you commit to spending time several days each week settling into a calm inner space, asking for guidance from your higher self and simply allow yourself to be present with whatever images, words, sensations, feelings or sense of knowing that comes to you - free of judgement and scrutiny - you'll be well on your way to developing your intuition.
